Toyota unveiled its new all-electric exclusive series “TOYOTA bZ” for the world’s first time, and exhibited the series’ first concept car “TOYOTA bZ4X CONCEPT”.
According to the latest information, the TOYOTA bZ pure electric exclusive series released this time fully embodies the concept of “all-round electrification that can be recognized by consumers” and provides Chinese consumers with abundant and cost-effective products.
The TOYOTA bZ pure electric exclusive series is based on a dedicated EV platform and can respond to the diverse needs of vehicles of different sizes and shapes. “BZ” is the abbreviation of “Beyond Zero”, which implies that Toyota hopes to provide consumers with the idea of exceeding the value of Zero Emission.
With the debut of TOYOTA bZ, Toyota will also introduce “people-oriented” EV models, allowing consumers to switch from ordinary cars to EV models indefinitely, and appreciate the advantages that EV models can only feel. This time it is the brand’s first concept car TOYOTA bZ4X CONCEPT.
Moreover, the TOYOTA bZ4X is an SUV EV model jointly developed by Toyota and SUBARU. It adopts a new 4WD system jointly developed with SUBARU, combined with the unique sensitivity of EV vehicles, and makes it easier to obtain a safe and smooth driving experience.
At the same time, it is also equipped with a battery jointly developed with CATL and is currently cooperating with many Chinese companies to promote China’s domestic production plan. The exclusive Chinese models jointly developed with BYD in this series are also being actively prepared.
The main features of TOYOTA bZ4X:
- Adopting a special-shaped steering wheel and a steer-by-wire system: The operation does not need to change hands, the internal space is more spacious; the driving experience is smoother, and the car can move with the heart.
- The position of the instrument panel is moved down, and an instrument is installed on the top of the shaped steering wheel, which allows passengers to have a wider field of vision, and instrument information is easier to read, helping to drive with peace of mind and safety.
- Based on the EV-specific platform, the short front suspension and long wheelbase are realized, bringing a unique appearance and interior space that is the same as that of a D-class car.
- While effectively using energy recovery, the installation of a solar charging system can flexibly charge when parking, further enhancing the environmental advantages of EV vehicles. In addition, it can also ensure the cruising range, even in winter without inconvenience.
Besides, TOYOTA bZ4X plans to produce in China and Japan and is expected to achieve global sales by mid-2022. As a part of all-round electrification, by 2025, Toyota will launch 15 EV models worldwide, including the TOYOTA bZ pure electric exclusive series, and plans to launch 7 products.
