Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications stated that the country will accelerate the commercialization of 5G networks and will launch large-scale 5G service tests in 2021.

5G is the next generation of cellular technology, and the download speed is said to be 10 to 100 times faster than the current 4G LTE network.

Additionally, to faster data download and upload speeds, 5G technology is also expected to have wider coverage and more stable connections.

Now, many telecommunications companies around the world are working on 5G network technology, which is considered to be the next leap in wireless technology.

With the promotion of 5G networks, many countries have begun to accelerate the deployment of 5G networks, including Vietnam, South Korea, and the United States.

In 2021, Vietnam will use some locally manufactured 5G equipment to start large-scale 5G service testing, focusing on agriculture, high-tech, and industry 4.0 applications.

In early April of this year, Qualcomm President and CEO-designate An Meng said that South Korea plans to invest 25 billion U.S. dollars to ensure that 5G will be popularized nationwide by 2022.

The United States also plans to invest 9 billion U.S. dollars to expand high-speed wireless broadband coverage in rural areas.
