MediaTek which has launched a variety of Dimensity 5G smartphone processors is preparing to launch Dimensity 2000, a 4nm processor.

In the latest report, MediaTek is planning to launch 4nm processors first in the industry and is expected to start production at the end of this year or early next year. Many smartphone manufacturers have already booked 4nm processors with MediaTek.

Moreover, MediaTek has obtained 4nm process capacity from TSMC. The price of 4nm processors will also be significantly higher than their current high-end 5G smartphone processors. It is expected to be around US$80. Their current high-end 5G smartphone processors are priced at US$30-35.

Among MediaTek’s current Dimensity series of 5G smartphone processors, Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 both use 6nm technology. There is no 5G processor that uses 5nm process technology. Experts previously predicted that MediaTek is preparing to launch a 5nm process.

Furthermore, MediaTek hopes to skip 5nm and directly adopt the 4nm process in order to gain an advantage in the performance of the processor.
