Apple will reduce the purchase of Samsung OLED screen panels, and switch to LG, BOE. In 2020, 78% of the OLED screen panels of Apple’s iPhones will be supplied by Samsung Display.
According to the report, Apple’s use of Samsung’s screens will drop to 65% in 2021. Therefore, it can be expected that Apple will purchase approximately 110 million screen panels from Samsung this year.
LG Display supplied 21% of Apple’s screen panels in 2020, and this year is expected to increase to 29%, with the number of about 50 million.
The Chinese company BOE is expected to supply 9 million OLED panels to Apple. The BOE has not passed Apple’s quality inspection standards but will produce replacement screen panels for the iPhone 12.
Additionally, BOE is currently developing a rollable flexible screen. Apple’s iPhone 13 mobile phone screen that will be launched this year is expected to have smaller bangs. In addition, it will also use an f1.5 aperture 7P wide-angle lens. The iPhone 14 in 2022 is expected to be upgraded to a 48MP camera.
