Apple’s plans to release its mixed reality headset in 2022
Tianfeng Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously stated that Apple’s mixed reality headsets will be unveiled in the middle of next year.
As per the report, the closely watched analyst once again redoubled his emphasis on Apple’s plans to Show off its mixed reality headset in 2022.
The headset will be furnished with more than a dozen cameras for tracking hand movements, and two built-in 8K displays that support eye-tracking technology.
It is worth noting that Apple’s mixed reality headset is not its long-rumored AR glasses. The product called Apple glasses will be released in 2025.
Allegedly, Apple’s goal is to announce a mixed reality headset at an offline conference event “in the coming months.”
Although on the surface, Ming-Chi Guo and Bloomberg have stated different time frames for the rumored headset, they may be referring to completely different products.
Apple’s first mixed reality headset will be a high-end, expensive, and “niche” device, mainly for developers.
As the company is doing for its ongoing transition to Apple Silicon chips, Apple may decide to showcase a head-mounted product aimed primarily at developers in order to give them time for the new mixed reality before shipping to customers.

Apple will hold a keynote speech at the Global Developers Conference on June 7th, when it will announce updates to all its operating systems, although no reports so far indicate that new hardware announcements may also appear for the first time.
