Chip crisis spread to small home appliance industry

A CCTV financial report, data released by the General Administration of Customs a few days ago showed that in the first quarter of this year, China’s exports of mechanical and electrical products were 2.78 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 43% and accounting for 60.3% of the total export value.

In recent years, small household appliances such as small kitchen appliances, small household appliances, and personal care have been held by European and American markets. It is expected that overseas orders will continue to be hot in the second half of this year.

Moreover, although the orders are full, it is affected by many factors such as chip and raw material prices, especially the shortage of very important micro-control chips in the production of home appliances, which directly affects the normal production and on-time delivery of small home appliance companies.

Besides, a small home appliance manufacturer in Foshan, Guangdong learned that since March and April this year, due to the tight supply of chips, the production of small home appliances has been stagnant. The original full-load production line was forced to shrink, even the order was delivered. The time had to be postponed.

Furthermore, the current supply of imported chips is in short supply, and some chips are not even available for the money. Take the Korean chip they used before as an example. The price was about 6 yuan before, but now it has risen to 16 yuan, but it is still difficult to get the goods.
