The Dawn of a New Age:
For Apple’s mobile platform, iOS 12 is relatively quiet. It directly focuses on performance upgrades and bug fixes. New features were added, but they didn’t really appeal to the imagination. iOS 13 aims to change this. It is full of many valuable features that will make many people happy.
Dark Mode for iPhone and iPad:
The dark mode appeared on the Mac in 2018, and Apple introduced it to iOS a year later. This feature has been asked by many people for a while, so its inclusion in iOS 13 will definitely attract fans.
You can enable dark mode from the control center when you hold down the brightness control. Apple even created a new wallpaper to call the darker look on the iPhone or iPad.
The New CarPlay Dashboard in iOS 13:
In iOS 13, CarPlay received the biggest update to date. It includes a new split-screen layout option that allows you to open the map on the left and various useful widgets on the right.
There is a new Calendar app for CarPlay that lets you see all your upcoming appointments, as well as the ability to tap on an event to get directions or to join a meeting with a phone call.
The music app has album art that allows you to find your music faster, and Siri suggestions will be displayed on the screen to support “just in time” actions, such as the ability to navigate to home or the option to open a garage door.
More Memoji Options & Memoji Stickers:
If you are a fan of Memoji, you will be happy to know that there are more customization options available in iOS 13. New hairstyles, headwear, makeup, and piercings mean you can personalize an animated avatar like never before.
You can also take advantage of Memoji Stickers. Apple will create a custom sticker pack for each of your Memoji, a move that looks comparable to the popularity of other services such as Bitmoji. Emoji stickers appear on the emoji keyboard, so you can use them in “Messages”.
WhatsApp, mail, or any other app that supports emoji. Most importantly, you don’t need the latest iPhone to use them, because you can use Memoji stickers on the iPhone 6s or later and the 2017 iPad or later.
Finally, if you are a fan of Animoji, iOS 13 will introduce three new characters-mouse, octopus, and cow. Animoji characters can also be used as Memoji stickers in iOS 13.
Sign In With Apple for Security & Privacy:
You may have seen social login buttons, such as “Login with Google” or “Log in with Facebook”. They are fast, convenient, and mean you don’t have to create or remember other passwords.
However, this is not a public service. Google and Facebook use the data obtained when you log in to these sites to collect more information about you and your habits so that they can build a better advertising image for you. Apple hopes to change this in iOS 13.
Logging in with Apple is a privacy-conscious alternative that anonymizes your login credentials and allows you to use your existing Apple ID for authentication. It will not track you, record your location or record your browsing habits.
If an app or service requires your name and email address, Apple will sign you up with a unique email address and forward emails to your real address so that companies can’t collect more private information about you.
Swipe to Type With the Quick Path Keyboard:
The “fast path” keyboard in iOS 13 is another feature that people have long requested. It allows you to slide from one letter to the next without having to type a word with your fingers. Apple says that the machine learning function on the device can recognize the path you draw and convert it into the word you want to enter.
Previously, this feature was only available with a third-party keyboard (such as Google’s Gboard), but now it has become a native feature of the iOS keyboard, and it should make one-handed typing easier for almost everyone. It should also help users who switch from Android to iOS.
A New Redesigned Map App on iOS 13:
Apple has been working on developing new mapping experiences for many years. With the release of iOS 13, they were finally able to showcase the product. Apple said that the new version of the map application can provide wider road coverage, better pedestrian data, more accurate addresses, and more detailed landscapes.
It includes a new option called “Look Around”, which is an alternative to Google Street View, which has a 3D street-level image that was captured with a high-resolution camera. The collection is also a new feature of the “Map” application.
New Photo Browser & Editing Tools:
iOS 13 brings new organization features to the “Photos” app. It divides your photos into years, months, or days so that you can browse through selected memories quickly and easily. The “Photos” app even uses machine learning, so it only shows you the best photos taken, putting screenshots and other more general photos into the “All Photos” tab.
In addition to the existing photo editing tools, Apple has also made new adjustments to “Vibrance”, “White Balance”, “Sharp”, “Vignette” and “Noise Reduction”. Surprisingly, the same editing tools can be used to edit videos. Now you can crop the video, adjust the color, change the exposure, and even rotate the movie on those sides!
Voice Control in iOS 13 for Accessibility:
One of the most impressive new features in iOS 13 is not a feature that most people use every day, but for those who need it, voice control can change the rules of the game. It is designed for people with limited mobility.
It allows these people to control their iOS or Mac devices with their voice. Once enabled, they do not have to touch the screen at all. Voice control will definitely have a learning curve, but it is intuitive, well thought out, and highlights Apple’s ongoing commitment to improving the accessibility of all its devices.
How to Use Voice Control on iOS & macOS:
The New iPadOS:
iOS 13 also introduced iPadOS. A new iOS version specifically designed to meet the needs of iPad users. When using iPadOS, only the many features of the iPad are designed to take advantage of the extra screen space you get on your Apple tablet.
Multitasking has also been improved, and the “File” application has been updated to allow you to plug an external hard drive into the iPad, and even use the iPad as the second screen of your Mac.
New features such as this show that Apple will eventually take the iPad seriously and hope to update iPadOS by enhancing the functions of its popular tablet.
