We organize notes, documents, files, and similar content on our phones. But this idea of arranging contacts rarely attracts our attention. If you are one of the few people who want to group and organize your contacts, then Samsung phones will bring you an extraordinary experience. Grouping contacts makes it easy to connect with specific groups of people. Let’s see how to create and manage contact groups on Samsung phones.
You can group contacts to send group texts or emails, and assign common ringtones to all group members. For example, in my family, I have a different ringtone. Whenever a family member calls, I know it is a family member, and if I don’t look at my phone, there will be no spam.

WHERE TO FIND GROUPS FOR CONTACTS ON SAMSUNG PHONES
You will find the contact group function in the Samsung Contacts and Phone app. Open the Samsung Phone app and tap the “Contacts” tab at the bottom. Scroll down a bit and you will get the groupings. Click on groups to view, create and edit them.
Alternatively, open the Contacts app. Tap on the three-bar icon. Expand Groups to reveal existing groups and to create a group.
HOW TO CREATE NEW CONTACT GROUPS
Samsung provides some predefined groups that cannot be deleted or changed. These include family, emergency contacts, starred, and unassigned in Android. If the name is appropriate, you can add contacts to these groups, or you can create your own contacts.
There are two ways to create a group. You can do this using the “Contacts” application or the “Phone” application. In the “Phone” application, go to the “Contacts” tab and click on “Online Forum” as shown in the previous section. Click the Create button at the top to create a new group.
Specify the name of the group in the “Available” box. If you want to set a ringtone for the group, select a ringtone. You can edit it later. Click Add members, and then select the contacts you want to add to a specific group. Click the save button.
Create contact group Samsung 6 Or, open the “Contacts” application and tap the icon three times. Under “Groups”, click “Create Group”. Use the “Add Group Member” and “Add Member” options to add contacts.
HOW TO ADD OR REMOVE MEMBERS FROM CONTACT GROUPS
There are three ways to do it. Firstly, you can add members while you are creating a group, as shown above. Other than that, here are two more methods.
Method 1: By Editing Group
You can add or delete members when editing a group. To do this, open the group from the “Contacts” or “Phone” application, and display the group to find the section. Click the group you want to edit. Click the edit icon in the group. To add a contact, click the Add member option. To delete a member, click the red delete (-) icon next to the member. Click Save to save the changes.
Method 2: From Individual Contacts
You can assign groups to contacts when editing individual contacts. To do this, open a contact from the contact or phone application you want to add to the group. Click the edit button.
The contact edit screen will open. Look for the Group option. Tap on it and choose an existing group. Go back and Hit Save.
Similarly, if you have assigned a group to contact and want to remove that, open the contact. Tap on the Edit icon.
Tap on Groups and uncheck the groups that you don’t want to be associated with the contact. Tap on Save on the previous screen.
HOW TO CHECK ASSIGNED GROUPS
Typically, you will need to verify that the contact has been added to the group. You can do this in two ways. Open the group. If there are many contacts in the group, use the search icon to view the contacts.
If the above method is related to multiple groups, the difficulty will be greater. Therefore, the second method is to open the contact directly from the contact or phone application. You will see the specified group in the “Groups” section. If you have not assigned a group to a contact, you will not see the group option.
HOW TO CHANGE GROUP NAME AND RINGTONE
You can rename the group you created at any time. However, group names created by Samsung cannot be edited. To rename a group, open the group and click the edit icon. Please enter a new name. On the same screen, you can add, delete or change the ringtones of the group. The same ringtone will be used for all group members.
HOW TO SEND A TEXT OR EMAIL TO ALL GROUP CONTACTS
One of the biggest benefits of forming a team at Samsung is sending large amounts of text or email. To do this, open the desired group from the “Contacts” or “Phone” application as shown above. Click the three-dot icon. Choose to send a message or send an email. Add your message and send it. The message or email will be sent to all contacts in the group.
HOW TO DELETE A GROUP
To delete a contact group created on a Samsung phone, open the group. Click the three-dot icon. Select Remove from. You will be asked whether to delete only the group or delete the group and its members. If you don’t want to delete the contact from your phone, please select the first option. If you want to delete contacts in batches, please delete them together with the other party.
