These are 4 new reminder features in iOS 14.5 to increase productivity
Apple’s reminder app has come a long way. In the past, if you really wanted to track important tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, you would need to install professional third-party applications to make it work.
Although these applications still provide valuable features, reminders can immediately complete the work for many iPhone users. With iOS 14.5, Apple only sweetened this deal.
In particular, Apple has added four new upgrades to “Reminders” in iOS 14.5 that will improve the way you work and manage the most important to-do list items, as shown below. In other words, “reminders” are far from the only benefit that the latest update brings to your iPhone.
In addition to reminders, you can explore more than 60 new features and changes, including new emojis, Apple Music updates, more privacy controls, and more.
Feature 1.Sort Lists by Title, Due Date, Creation Date & Priority: Now, you can automatically sort the list according to four different categories: “Creation Date”, “Due Date”, “Priority”, and “Title”. Of course, you can always choose to keep the default “manual” option so that you can sort the list manually.
These automation categories include two different subcategory options:
- Due Date: “Earliest First” or “Latest First”
- Creation Date: “Oldest First” or “Newest First”
- Priority: “Highest First” or “Lowest First”
- Title: “Ascending” or “Descending”
Feature 2.Print Out Any of Your Lists: Now you can print a paper copy of the “reminder” list, which is very convenient if you want to hang the list on the refrigerator, put it on your desk, share it with non-Apple users, or even take it to the grocery store. You can continue to unlock your iPhone to view the shopping list without wearing a mask.
Just type an ellipsis (•••) on any list and you will find a new “print” option. Click this button and you will be able to connect to the printer via AirPrint to print the list. You can also save it as a PDF, just like using any print command. Whether you print a paper copy or make a PDF, everything in the list will appear, including image thumbnails, comments, URLs, and deadlines.
Feature 3.Use Quick Actions from the Lists View: In iOS 14.4.2 and earlier, long-pressing on the “Reminders” list in the list view will “pick” it so that you can drag and reorder it in that directory. In this new update, long press can now display the quick action menu of the list, which contains three options: “Name and Appearance”, “Shared List” and “Delete List” “.
Feature 4.Use New Emoji for List Icons: Although iOS 14 itself provides new colors, symbols, and emojis for reminders for list icons, iOS 14.5 even adds more emojis to your arsenal.
To be precise, there are 217 new emojis, and if it can be updated to some older emojis, there are 226. To see all the new emojis you can use as reminder list icons, check out the complete guide on all new iOS 14.5 emojis.
