How to enable One-handed mode on Android 12 smartphone?
Google has begun to release a developer preview version of its latest mobile operating system, Android 12. The new update has a number of new features, one of which is the “one-handed mode”.
As the name suggests, enabling one-handed mode will scale down the screen proportionally, allowing users to use the device with only one hand, making it easier to reach every corner of the screen.
If you want to enable this feature on a device running Android 12, please refer to the step-by-step guide. Please note that the latest Android version is currently available for some Google smartphones, including Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G or Pixel 5.
Haven’t installed Android 12 DP and want to install it, then here is a guide. Please also note that Android 12 is currently in the Developer Preview, so the version is unstable, if you use it, there may be some errors or performance issues.
How to enable one-handed mode in Android 12:
Step 1: On your Android smartphone, open the “Settings” app.
Step 2: In Settings, go to System > Gestures.
Step 3: Now, under the “Gestures” option, select “One-handed mode”, and then switch the switch of the “Use one-handed mode” option to “On”.
If you want to manually turn off the mode, please turn off the “Exit when switching applications” option on the same screen to keep the mode open. There is also a timeout option in the settings, which will disable the feature after a period of inactivity. You can set it to 4 seconds, 8 seconds, 12 seconds or never set.
To use “one-handed mode” on an Android 12 smartphone, just swipe down at the bottom of the screen.
