Microsoft will provide the Windows Hello function in the Windows 10 operating system so that the device can be locked in a safe and convenient way to protect it from harmful persons. Windows Hello also allows login without a password.
It provides users with the following biometric authentication options:
- Windows Hello Face-for facial recognition using internal/external webcams
- Windows Hello fingerprint-for fingerprint recognition
- Windows Hello password-numeric and alphanumeric password for login
This is a step-by-step guide on how to enable the Windows Hello feature on a Windows 10 computer.
How to set up and use Windows Hello:
Step 1: Open the “Settings” application on your Windows 10 computer.
Step 2: Go to the “Account” section here and click “Login Options” from the left panel.
Step 3: Under “Manage how you log in to the device”, various Windows Hello options will be supported on the device.
Step 4: Now, click on Windows Hello PIN, and then click “Add”. If you want to use face recognition and fingerprint functions, you must first set a PIN code.
Step 5: Click “Next” in the pop-up window, and then enter your Microsoft account password.
Step 6: After entering the Windows Hello password, click “OK”.
Now you can choose to use “fingerprint” or “face unlock”, depending on the options available on the system.
Note: Windows Hello is now the new default security on Windows 10. Even if you just use a pushpin to log in to the device, you are still using Windows Hello. You cannot download Windows Hello or remove it from the system.
