Huawei P40 Tips: Here’s other Google Play store alternative

Posted on

As Google suspends trade with Huawei and fundamentally prevents Huawei phones after the P30 series from accessing Android, Google Play, and Google services, it highlights an issue that should be taken seriously: what should users do if they find that they cannot use it do Google Play Store.

Thankfully, if you don’t know yet, there are actually some Play Store options where you can find apps for the Huawei P40 series. The choice of apps may not be more diverse than in the Play Store, which means that sometimes you may need to get apps from multiple sources.

If you don’t purchase directly from Google, it means that sometimes you can find apps that Google itself does not allow in the Play Store. On the downside, the refund policy may vary, depending on which app store you are downloading from. In addition, Google does not monitor the applications being uploaded, so you may face malware or viruses, so please keep this in mind.

Amazon Appstore

For those who don’t know, Amazon has its own App Store. The App Store started to release the company’s Fire Tablet a few years ago, but if you don’t have a Fire Tablet, don’t worry, because you can still continue to download from it.

Users must choose paid and free applications. You will also be able to purchase and download a set of movies, books, music, and TV shows, which makes the Amazon Appstore one of the closest options to the Google Play Store.

APKMirror

As the name suggests, APKMirror is like a mirror in the Play Store. APKs downloaded from the website can be updated through the Play Store, which means you don’t have to worry about compatibility and future updates. According to the website, APKMirror is designed in such a way that users who want the latest version of the app can download it in advance without having to keep updates through the Play Store.

It also does away with geo-restrictions meaning that apps that are locked to a certain country or region can still be downloaded and installed on your device.

GetJar

GetJar is one of the oldest application stores in existence. It was established in 2004 and can accommodate many Android applications, which you can download for free. As we said, some of these stores may not always have access to the same apps like the Play Store, and Getjer is actually a good example. Although there are many applications to choose from, if you choose to use one method, it should be no problem to do so.

F-Droid

Although the Play Store can be the home of mainstream apps, if you are looking for something different, so can F-Droid. F-Droid is an application store that can be installed on its website, and its unique feature is that it consists of free and open-source applications.

This means that if you are a developer, you can actually download these applications, take a look at their code, and then create a branch version yourself, thanks to it being open. Of course, some of these applications are not necessarily the same as large developers expect, but there may be some that are right for you.

Uptodown

Uptodown is an app store that can not only serve as a home for Android apps, but also as apps on other platforms (such as iOS, Mac, Windows). Its design also reflects the Play Store, which means you should be able to use it even without a learning process. Unfortunately, the number of apps available has increased compared to those available on the Play Store, but in most cases, you should be able to find what you need or something similar.

It also has its own malware scanner built into the store, which means that generally speaking, most apps on it should be free of malware (but you should probably take the necessary precautions anyway).

Install the Google Play Store on the Huawei P40 Pro

Some of these features are as powerful as other App Stores, and it’s hard to ignore the fact that Google Play Store may be the best App Store for Android apps. Not only are there various protection measures, but most developers submit their apps to the Play Store, which means you have a greater chance of finding what you need.

Although the restriction is still in effect, there is no official way to get the Play Store on your Huawei P40 Pro smartphone, but we have written a workaround, you must check if you want to get the Play Store. And it runs on its Huawei P40 Pro.
