The lock screen is a security feature of a computer, smartphone, or tablet that helps protect the device from unauthorized access. This is the interface that is looked up at startup. After the device is locked, the device’s applications will only be accessible. A locked device helps protect device data from harmful users.
You can set up a screen lock to help protect your Motorola smartphones. Every time you turn on the device or wake up the screen, you will usually be asked to use a PIN, pattern, or password to unlock the device. On some devices, you can use your fingerprint to unlock.
Moreover, you can easily lock the screen to prevent accidental keystrokes and pocket dialing. And, because you don’t always want others to touch your phone, you can set a security code or pattern that only you can crack.
STEPS:
- To lock your screen manually, press. To unlock, press and slide.
- To set an automatic screen lock:
- From the Home screen, touch> Settings.
- Touch Location & security > Set up screen lock.
- Select the type of lock you want:
- None (turn off screen locks)
- Pattern
- PIN
- Password
- To set the length of time before the screen locks.
- Touch> Settings.
- Touch Location & security > Security lock timer, and select the length of time.
NOTE: You can make emergency calls on a locked phone. A locked phone still rings and can be easily answered.
