How to take photos of the night sky with Google Pixel 5?

Posted on

Although Google has been using the same camera sensor since the Pixel 3, the Pixel 5 is still an excellent camera and one of the best cameras on the market.

You may notice that it takes longer to process images, but this is because Google has removed Visual Core from Pixel 5. Even so, the image processing on the device is still the best of its kind.

After setting up Pixel 5, you need to get used to the various functions in the camera app. Simply put, if the camera does not automatically switch to the correct mode, you don’t want to miss a picture of the night sky.

How to take photos of the night sky

  • If you want to take some pictures at night and actually get something other than a dark picture, then you’ll want to activate Night Sight. In most cases, your Pixel 5 will automatically switch over to Night Mode.
  • However, there may be some times where you want to use Night Sight manually, and you can do so by opening the Camera app, swiping over to the left, and tapping Night Sight.
