Here’s how to access notifications with a swipe in OnePlus 8T

OnePlus 8T was launched in October 2020, with flagship specifications and 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 processor, 48MP quad-camera setup, and more.

This premium device is also the company’s first device to be used out of the box on the latest OxygenOS 11 skin based on Android 11.

Therefore, the latest user interface provides a series of powerful features to help the company dominate the smartphone market.

Accessing notifications with a swipe

If you are an existing OnePlus user, you may be accustomed to accessing the notification bar by swiping down anywhere on the home screen.

On OnePlus 8T, the same gesture will bring up Shelf, which is OnePlus’s card-style column, used to access widgets, the step counter, recently opened applications, and so on.

If you don’t have much use for it, don’t worry, you can easily change the gesture back to open the notification bar.

STEPS:

  • Long-press any blank area on the home screen and select Home Settings.
  • Here, tap the second option that says “Swipe down to access” and change it from Shelf to Notifications & Quick SettingsSave this selection and you should be good to go.
