How to check your Android phone’s SAR value?

Posted on

When receiving and transmitting electromagnetic waves, a certain percentage of electromagnetic waves will be lost, and this percentage of lost electromagnetic waves will be absorbed by surrounding tissues.

The SAR value is the rate at which the body absorbs this missing electromagnetic wave. The phone has a radio transmitter and receiver and can be operated via a wireless network. So they emit radio waves, which are carcinogenic.

How to check your Android phone’s SAR value?

Nowadays users can check the SAR value of their phone on their mobile phone’s manufacturer’s website as it is mandatory to mention the SAR value of mobile phones.

Although this seemingly works only on Android phones.

  • On your phone open the dialer or phone app.
  • Now dial *#07# in your phone.
  •  This will show you the SAR measurement of your device as specified by the manufacturer.

Note: The lower the better, although as mentioned earlier, the US FCC believes that a SAR level of 1.6W/kg is sufficient. Therefore, even if the SAR value of your mobile phone is 1.2 or similar, don’t worry, even though most mobile phones are now in the range of 0.5 to 0.6.
