Android 12 Tip: How to disable mic and camera from quick settings?

Posted on

Apple has adopted a privacy-focused approach on the iPhone, which makes Google to more attention to it.

One such privacy feature in Android allows you to turn off microphone and camera access completely from Android Quick Settings. We will tell you how.

The “Privacy Control Panel” introduced in Android 12 allows you to easily see which apps use which permissions and how often.

It’s nice to see content that has been visited in the past, but what about preventing it from happening now?

How it disable

  • Android 12 also added Quick Settings tiles for “Camera Access” and “Mic Access.”
  • When you toggle these off, apps can’t use them at all. So if “Camera Access” is off and you open the camera on Instagram, you’ll just see a black screen.
  •  Setting it up is easy, and then you’ll be just a tap away from better privacy control.
  • To access the quick toggles, first, swipe down twice from the top of the screen to fully expand the Quick Settings. Now, tap the pencil icon to edit the tile layout.
