How to reset a locked iPod without iTunes?

There are many models of iPod, including iPod nano, Shuffle, and Touch. Every iPod has its own way of resetting the device without connecting to iTunes.

After resetting the iPod, you can access the device again. However, after resetting, most of your content will remain, but your settings will be restored to the iPod’s default configuration.

Reset iPod Touch

  • Hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Slide to Power Off slider shows up.
  • Swipe from left to right to turn the iPod off.
  • If your iPod doesn’t respond, continue to the next step.
  • Press the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for 10 seconds.
  • Continue holding until you see the Apple logo. This will reset your iPod Touch.
