How to fix Apple Watch update stuck on verifying screen?

Posted on

Apple Watch update stuck on the verification screen is a recurring problem that troubles many users. Apple regularly releases updates to Apple Watch to ensure that everything runs smoothly, fix software failures, and fix security issues.

When there is a new update for Apple Watch, users will receive a notification on the Watch app. Next, the user follows the simple process of launching the Watch app, going to the “Settings” section, and installing the update from there.

After the process begins, the application checks for updates and then starts to verify it to ensure that it can be downloaded safely. The problem is here, the verification process seems to take forever.

Fix: Apple Watch Update Stuck on Verifying Screen

  • Apple asserts that before you attempt the apple watch update, you should update the paired iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
  • Next is the battery level. Apple recommends that the Apple watch must have 50% or more battery juice before you attempt the update.
  • Lastly, Wi-Fi should be enabled on the paired iPhone connected to update the watch.

Once you have ensured that you satisfy all the prerequisites outlined by Apple, now move on to address the issue at hand.

  • Check that the paired iPhone has a working and stable internet connection. Better to switch off the internet and Wi-Fi once and then restart again.
  • Next, make sure that the Apple Watch is in close proximity to the paired iPhone. Distancing it from the iPhone could hinder the connection and disrupt the update process.
  • If the above three steps didn’t work, the recommended troubleshooter by Apple’s experts is to close the watch app once and then relaunch it.
  • Once the app relaunches, try updating the Apple watch again.
