Among them, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), driven by the launch of Apple’s new iPhone, achieved revenue of 14.88 billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter, an increase of 11.9% on a quarterly basis, ranking first in the world. Samsung ranked second with a revenue of 4.81 billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter, an increase of 11% quarter-on-quarter.
Moreover, UMC’s third-quarter revenue was 2.04 billion US dollars, an increase of 12.2% quarter-on-quarter, ranking third. GlobalFoundry’s third-quarter revenue reached 1.71 billion US dollars, an increase of 12% quarterly, ranking fourth.
In addition, the fifth-ranked SMIC’s third-quarter revenue reached 1.42 billion US dollars, a quarterly increase of 5.3%.
