Graphics card shipments in the third quarter grew by 25.7% year-on-year: Report

According to the latest report, in the third quarter of 2021, the shipment of desktop discrete graphics cards increased compared with the same period last year. AMD’s market share increased by 1%, while Nvidia maintained its leading position with a 79% market share.

Compared with the same period last year, the total shipments of AIB (Add-in Boards) graphics cards in this quarter increased by 25.7% to 12.7 million units, an increase from 11.47 million units in the second quarter of 2021.

JPR President Dr. Jon Peddie pointed out: “Intel is preparing to enter the AIB market in 2022. It is unclear whether the company will sell AIB like AMD and Nvidia, or just provide chips.”

Jon Peddie Research recently released a report on the overall global GPU shipments for the third quarter. In terms of market share, AMD’s overall market share percentage increased by 1.4% from the previous quarter to 18%; Intel’s market share fell by 6.2% to 62%, and Nvidia’s market share increased by 4.86% to 20%.
