Following the release of Microsoft Edge 96 on the stable channel last month, the 97 version of the web browser has now entered the Beta test channel. Microsoft released Microsoft Edge Beta Build 97.0.1072.21 as part of its regular 4-week update cycle.
Moreover, the Edge Beta channel is considered to be the most stable preview channel and only releases well-tested features in the Canary and Dev versions of the browser.

When multiple works or school accounts are logged in on a device, use the current profile to log in to the website: When multiple works or school accounts are logged in on a device, the user will be asked to select an account from the account selector to continue accessing the website. In this version, users will be prompted to allow Microsoft Edge to automatically log in to the website by signing work and school accounts in the current profile. The user can turn this feature on or off in the settings/profile preferences.

Open digitally signed PDF files: Digital signatures are widely used to verify the authenticity and changes of files. Users will be able to verify the signature of PDF files directly from the browser without any plug-ins.

Citations in Microsoft Edge: It is a common need for students to cite data sources for research. They have to manage many research references and sources, which is not an easy task. They must also translate these citations into appropriate citation formats such as APA, MLA, and Chicago. This new “citation” feature in Microsoft Edge (now in preview) provides students with a better way to manage and generate citations for their online research. After turning on the “Citations” feature in “Favorites” or “Settings and More” (Alt-F), Microsoft Edge will automatically generate citations that students can use in the future so they can concentrate on their research. When they are finished, they can easily incorporate these citations into the final deliverable.
