WSATools re-listed on the Microsoft App Store, version 0.1.70 released

WSATools is a third-party program that provides local APK installation for the Windows 11  Android subsystem. After being removed from the app store by Microsoft, it is now publicly available again. Previously, the application could be downloaded via a private chain.

On December 2nd, WSATools developer Simone Franco said via Twitter that WSATools has launched version 0.1.70 and is publicly available on the Microsoft App Store. The new version improves the installation of ADB and also fixes the problem of part of the loading screen being stuck.

According to Simone Franco, the reasons for the removal of WSATools include “the problem of names containing the letters of WSA (Windows Android Subsystem)”. Microsoft claims that this will cause confusion, and developers should clearly state the features based on WSA on the application page.

WSATools application introduction shows: ” An apk installer that is easy to use for Windows Subsystem for Android. WSATools is a simple apk installer for the Android subsystem of Windows 11. It is intuitively designed and makes users feel at home immediately.”

Moreover, the Windows 11 Subsystem for Android includes the Linux kernel and the Android operating system based on version 11 of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

This subsystem runs in the Hyper-V virtual machine, just like the Linux subsystem. It can map the runtime and API of the App in the AOSP environment to the Windows graphics layer, memory buffer, input mode, physical and virtual devices, and sensors. It can run on Intel, AMD, Qualcomm CPUs.
