According to the latest report, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman’s latest news revealed that Apple is planning a comprehensive renovation of its Apple Watch lineup in 2022, including an update to Apple Watch SE 2 and a new version for sports athletes. The new Apple Watch with a sturdy design.

Gurman wrote in the latest issue of his Power On newsletter that in 2022, in addition to Apple Watch Series 8, Apple also plans to update the Apple Watch SE. The first generation of Apple Watch SE was released in September 2020 and has been the mid-range smartwatch choice for customers ever since. The design of the Apple Watch SE is the same as that of the Apple Watch Series 6, but it lacks advanced features such as regular display, blood oxygen sensor, and ECG function.

Apple usually will not update its “SE” devices, such as the iPhone SE, within a few years. Given that Apple did not announce an update this year, it can be speculated that there will be new models in 2022. Gurman did not specify expectations for the new Apple Watch SE, but it may include a slightly adjusted design and health features that are more consistent with higher-end models.

In addition to updating the existing Apple Watch SE, Apple also plans to launch a new Apple Watch, mainly for sports athletes. Bloomberg has previously reported that Apple has recently considered launching a more durable rugged version of the Apple Watch. According to Gurman, the new Apple Watch will have a “reinforced” design, possibly with a case that is more resistant to scratches, dents, drops, etc.

Apple is currently cooperating with Nike to launch a special Apple Watch Series 7 and Apple Watch SE models. These models have unique dials and special straps. The design and durability of these models are the same as the standard Apple Watch.

Moreover, the current Apple Watch lineup includes Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch SE, and the 2017 Apple Watch Series 3. According to news, Apple is now planning to expand the lineup to more customer bases in 2022, such as athletes, who may postpone purchases due to concerns about the durability of the Apple Watch.
