According to the latest report, AMD is preparing to launch the 4800S motherboard kit, the successor to the 4700S motherboard kit.
The processor of the 4700S motherboard kit is Zen 2 architecture, 7nm process manufacturing, 8 cores 16 threads, the same as the Sony PS5 host. The 4800S still uses the Zen 2 architecture, and it is not clear how the performance is improved.

According to reports, the 4800S has a PCI-Express 4.0 slot for a discrete GPU, while the 4700S only supports Gen2. The 4800S can also support up to RX 6600 graphics cards, which may be sold in bundles.
In addition, the device will be equipped with M.2 slots for SSD and Wi-Fi cards, and support AM4 CPU coolers.
Moreover, the price of AMD 4700S motherboard kits ranges from US$320 to US$700. As an upgraded version, the AMD 4800S desktop kit will be launched in the first quarter of 2022, manufactured by MSI, and will be bundled with TUL Radeon RX 6600 graphics cards.
