Microsoft Surface Duo 2 receives December firmware update

Microsoft has launched a major firmware update for Surface Duo 2 in December, upgrading the firmware to version 2021.923.272, which is 258 MB in size, bringing many improvements.

Surface Duo 2 new features:

  • OneNote can be launched when you click the top button on the Surface Slim Pen. Requires Surface Slim Pen to pair with Surface Duo 2.

  • Support to select the default display screen when folded in “Settings”.

  • Support to choose the preferences for answering calls when folded.

System performance improvements:

  • Improve app navigation by adding support animations.

  • Improve the usability of the camera.

The new function of choosing which screen to use when folding can simplify the operation experience of Surface Duo 2 users. Users can find updates and downloads in “Settings”.

Moreover, the new Microsoft Surface Duo 2 uses a dual PixelSense fusion display (5.8-inch touch screen, expanded to 8.3 inches). These displays also support a 90Hz screen refresh rate and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Furthermore, this dual-screen smartphone uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, has a three-camera setup, and consists of a 12-megapixel telephoto, a 12-megapixel wide-angle, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

Surface Duo 2 also has the so-called Glance Bar, which allows you to check incoming calls and text messages, adjust the volume, and check battery life while charging.
