According to the latest report, Marvell Content Electronics announced that the brand will launch the 5 billionths mechanical hard disk (HDD) master controller next month January 2022. This is an important milestone in the company’s 25 years of establishment and represents its long-term stability in the hard disk business.
Marvell said that digital transformation is driving the development of cloud services, digital payments, artificial intelligence, and 5G technology. Cloud data centers require a large number of mechanical hard drives to meet storage requirements.

Marvell’s Bravera hard disk controller and preamplifier solution uses more than 1,500 hard disk-related patents and 18-generation read channel IP, with high reliability and low power consumption.
Moreover, Marvell’s Bravera solution includes HDD main control, pre-amplifier, SSD main control, storage accelerator, and other products. The vice president of the storage division of the company said, “It is a huge achievement to reach the goal of 5 billion pieces of shipments.
