Ubisoft released a project named Ubisoft Quartz

Ubisoft announced that it will enter the field of blockchain technology and NFT for the first time, and launched a project called Ubisoft Quartz.

It will provide limited edition merchandise for Ubisoft games, such as skin appearances, which users can then resell in cryptocurrency types on third-party markets. According to reports, Ubisoft will launch a beta version on December 9, starting with “Ghost Recon: Breakpoint”.

The NFT items provided by Ubisoft Quartz are called Digits, each of which is a limited edition game interior item, and each digital collection has a “unique” serial number. For example, a rifle may have its number on the magazine, or the helmet may be “engraved” on the edge.

In addition, embedded in the Digit metadata is the user’s Ubisoft Connect username. When a Digit is transferred to a new owner, their username is added to the metadata, creating an ownership history for the NFT.

Moreover, to the decorative items in the game, Digit also comes with a video file showing the items being used in the game. On December 9, the Ubisoft Connect PC version of Ghost Recon Breakpoint will provide three digital collections: the “wolf” skin of the M4A1 tactical rifle, a helmet, and a pair of pants.

Furthermore, these digital collections will be provided to players for free but must be collected within a limited time frame of December 9, 12, and 15. In addition, players must meet certain conditions to qualify for them: rifles require you to reach XP level 5 in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, pants require you to play at least 100 hours, and helmets require you to play at least 600 hours.

Baptiste Chardon, Ubisoft’s Director of Blockchain Business and Product, explained, “Our idea is to focus on our first batch of players with the most participation.”
