Omdia stated that the pandemic has caused a sudden shift in the global economy to become more technology-focused. Increasing demand for electronic products and the resulting shortage of some semiconductor components have increased the ASP and revenue of enterprises in the entire semiconductor industry. At the same time, as the semiconductor industry prepares for holiday demand, seasonal demand usually increases in the third quarter.
The strong performance of the memory market in this quarter also promoted changes in the ranking of the top 10 companies in the semiconductor industry. Samsung Electronics surpassed Intel to occupy first place in this quarter’s ranking.
