Counterpoint, a market research organization, released a report on December 10, introducing the results of Vivo’s mid-to-high-end mobile phones in the Chinese market.

Statistics show that in the past year, the market share of Vivo mobile phones in the price range of US$500-599 (RMB 3190-3822) has risen from 10% in September 2020 to 20% this year. This achievement benefited from the sales of the X70 Pro series.

In 2021, many Chinese mobile phone manufacturers are no longer satisfied with the low-priced market below 2,000 yuan and are eager to gain more shares in the market above 3,000 yuan.

In 2021, Vivo launched a number of S series smartphones, positioned lower than the X series, so that the latter can more clearly target the high-end market. The researcher said that the strategic layout of the brand’s Y, S, and X series has been successful.

Furthermore, Counterpoint said that in the futureprices of more than 3,000 yuan will become the next competitive battlefield for Chinese Android phone manufacturers. In addition, realme will also start a high-end strategy in 2022, and is expected to launch a flagship model with a price of 5,000 yuan.
