It is reported that RTFKT was established in 2020 and also produces NFT collections and meme emoticons. In Metaverse, users will be able to purchase virtual land and other digital assets for virtual characters, such as clothing, etc. This opens the door to Metaverse for consumer goods brands like Nike.
Nike Chief Executive John Donahoe said in a statement: “This is another step for Nike to accelerate its digital transformation, allowing us to serve athletes and creators in the sports, creative, and gaming industries.”
Last month, Nike just announced a collaboration with Roblox, a video game platform, to launch the “Nike Virtual World” for the first time in Metaverse.
