According to the latest report, Dell announced the Luna Laptop notebook conceptual design, the purpose this conceptual design is to reduce carbon emissions and increase product sustainability.
Dell said that the motherboard is an energy-consuming component, so in this product, the size of the motherboard has been reduced by 75% to only 5580 square millimeters, and the components have been reduced by 20%. Dell said that through this change, the motherboard’s carbon footprint has been reduced by 50%.

Moreover, Dell placed the motherboard on the back of the screen, so that there is more room for the battery. In terms of repairability, Dell Luna notebooks have greatly reduced the use of screws, and the repair time has been reduced by 1.5 hours. Dell claims that the battery, keyboard, and even the screen can be easily removed.
As you can see from Dell’s renderings, this notebook uses passive heat dissipation, using the metal A side of the notebook as a heat sink, and it should have a good effect with a 10W processor.
Currently, Dell has not announced when it will mass-produce the concept design notebook. More new notebooks from Dell are expected to be released at CES 2022 next month.
