Tesla fully automated driving FSD Beta 10.7 launched

Posted on

Tesla CEO Musk previously stated on Twitter that Tesla FSD Beta 10.8 and Holiday Entertainment software may be released on Tuesday.

Today, Tesla first released the FSD Beta 10.7 version. One of the significant improvements of this version is to reduce the “phantom brake”, that is, the problem of unexplained deceleration of the car.

FSD Beta 10.7 update log:

  • The improved object attribute network reduces false cut-in decelerations by 50% and lane assignment errors by 19%.

  • Increased the response delay of photon-to-control vehicles by an average of 20%.

  • Expand the use of regenerative braking in Autopilot to O mph to achieve a smoother stop and improve energy efficiency.

  • By adding more automatic labeling and simulated training examples to the data set, the VRU (pedestrian, cyclist, motorcycle, animal) lateral speed error was increased by 4.9%.

  • By improving the speed estimation of objects at the end of visibility, the false deceleration of crossing objects is reduced.

  • By adding a geometric check to cross-validate the lane assignment of the object, the error deceleration is reduced.

  • When visibility is low, the speed curve for unprotected left turns is improved.

  • Added more natural behavior to lean towards the bike lane when turning right.

  • By better modeling parking areas with soft and hard deadlines, the comfort level of giving in to people who cross the street is improved.

  • Improve the smoothness of merge control by better modeling merge points and ghost objects at the edge of visibility.

  • Improve overall comfort by implementing stricter lateral impact limits in the trajectory optimizer.

  • Improved short-term lane changes through richer trajectory modeling.

  • Improved the integration between leading vehicle overtaking and lane change clearance selection.

  • Update the visualization of the trajectory.

Moreover, Tesla officially mentioned that although this is an FSD Beta update, this improvement is for “Autopilot”, not just FSD Beta. It is expected that the next version of FSD Beta will support navigation waypoints and expand the scope of distribution to users with lower safety scores.
