TCL releases Google TV software repair patches

TCL’s entire Google TV product line had been removed from Best Buy due to performance-related issues at the beginning of this month, and it has finally returned.

Recent software updates have improved the stability and speed of TCL TVs equipped with Google TV,” TCL spokesperson Rachelle Parks said in an email. “Through these updates, these Google TVs now represent what TCL and Google consider to be the powerful performance of the TV in the future.”

Moreover, Best Buy is the only retailer selling TCL Google TV product lines, including 50-inch (50S546), 55-inch (55S546), 65-inch (65S546), and 75-inch (75S546).

Previously, due to some early buyers complained about the performance of the 5 series and 6 series models. TCL’s own website rated the 6-series models as 3.5 stars, and the low score was mainly due to software issues.

Besides, TCL has pushed a new version of the firmware update for these TVs, which will fix performance and software issues.
