Posted on

According to the latest report, Intel launched the oneAPI 2022 toolkits development kit. This series of tools are designed for professional developers to facilitate heterogeneous development, improve efficiency, and give full play to the acceleration features of CPU and GPU.

Moreover, oneAPI 2022 toolkits support multiple languages and support cross-architecture performance acceleration to improve programmer productivity. The new version of the tool includes the world’s first unified compiler that supports C++, SYCL, and Fortran, as well as Python tools that support CPU and GPU parallel data, as well as advanced accelerators for modeling, performance accelerators for AI and optical tracing visualization, etc.

Furthermore, oneAPI provides developers with a series of tools to improve the productivity and speed of code development when building applications on different architectures. Officials say that about 40% of developers need to develop on more than one type of processor platform.

This situation will increase in the future. With oneAPI, developers can freely choose the appropriate hardware to achieve their goals, without having to learn a proprietary programming model specifically for a specific platform.

In the past year, Intel has added more than 900 new features and enhancements to oneAPI. The DPC++ compatibility tool has been improved to automatically migrate 90% to 95% of CUDA code to SYCL / DPC++. The new version supports the latest Intel 12th-generation Core processors, as well as the latest Xeon processors, and also includes the upcoming Xe GPU.
