Apple may launch iPhone (SE) in the first half of 2022

According to the latest report, Apple will launch the next-generation iPhone (or iPhone SE3) in the first half of 2022. It is expected to be released in March-April. Several generations of SE are consistent and equipped with the latest A15 chip and 5G functions, so the pressure on the non-Apple camp has soared.

Some market research agencies also pointed out that Apple’s pricing of the iPhone SE3 is set at less than US$400 (approximately RMB 2,548), which is a further downward adjustment compared to the previous generation SE2.

Moreover, DigiTimes previously reported that orders for the new iPhone 13 series have not decreased, and multiple component suppliers in Apple’s supply chain are preparing for the shipment of the third-generation iPhone SE, which is expected to be launched in the first half of 2022.

Analysts at JPMorgan Chase Bank in the United States said that this new iPhone SE 5G phone is expected to win about 1.4 billion low-end Android phone users worldwide, and about 300 million old Apple users. For the 5G version of the iPhone SE, the initial pricing range may be between 269 US dollars and 399 US dollars, it is very competitive.

It is worth mentioning that DSCC analyst Ross Young said that the upcoming iPhone SE Plus will use the same 4.7-inch LCD display as the current version of the iPhone SE 2. The iPhone SE 2 itself uses the previous iPhone 8 display size. In other words, Apple still insists on using a 4.7-inch screen size.

Recently, there are rumors in the supply chain that Apple is about to conduct trial production of the iPhone SE3 in the near future. The new iPhone SE 3 is equipped with a 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD display and a physical fingerprint Home button. The back of the iPhone still retains a 12-megapixel single-camera design, and only the sensor will be replaced to improve the photo effect.

In addition, the iPhone SE 3 is equipped with a residual blood version of the A15 processor and has an external X60M 5G baseband chip. It is expected to be equipped with 3GB of memory, while iPhone SE Plus will use 4GB of memory.

As early as 2019, Guo Mingchi predicted that Apple was developing an “iPhone SE 2 Plus” that would be released in 2021, but such a device did not appear. Guo Mingchi later retracted these claims, and all his latest iPhone SE new-generation information indicated that the screen size of the next-generation version will be the same as the current model.

Guo Mingchi also claimed that the upcoming iPhone SE will support 5G, so the name “Plus” may refer to faster cellular connections rather than large screens. He believes that the new iPhone SE will adopt a similar design to the current model, which is based on the iPhone 8, with a 4.7-inch display, touch ID home screen button, and a thicker frame. Guo Mingchi said that key upgrades for the device will include 5G support and faster processors.

Furthermore, the original iPhone SE was released in March 2016 and was discontinued in September 2018. The second-generation iPhone SE will be launched in April 2020 and will continue to be sold. The 64GB storage space is priced at 3299 yuan, and the 128GB storage space is priced at 3799 yuan.
