LG received ‘High Visibility Vehicle OLED’ certification from TÜV Rheinland

LG Display said on the 26th that it has obtained the “High Visibility Vehicle OLED” certification from the global certification body TÜV Rheinland.

According to the latest report, LG Display’s OLED panels for cars have always maintained the highest quality in various driving environments such as daytime and night brightness. Even at a low temperature of minus 40 degrees, the same image quality can be maintained.

In any viewing angle between the driver’s seat and the passenger seat, the small display content, which accounts for 5% of the total screen, is evaluated, which can be accurately expressed without distortion.

It is reported that this product adopts the new OLED technology “Tandem” that stacks red (R), green (G), and blue (B) light-emitting devices in multiple layers. Compared with a stacked light-emitting device, the brightness and service life are greatly improved.

In addition, the panel contrast ratio is 600,000 to 1, which greatly exceeds the certification standard (50,000 to 1). Even if the external environment of the car changes rapidly, the brightness and color can maintain more than 99%. The response speed is 0.66 ms, which is faster than the certified reference value (3 ms), and there is no afterimage.

Ki-hwan Son, Director of LG Display’s Automotive Marketing Product Planning Department, said: “This certification proves that automotive double-layer OLED panels can meet the highest quality and the ultimate longevity.”
