Apple iOS 15 tips and tricks: How to enable separation alert for an AirTag

Posted on

In this article, we will tell you how to enable a separation alert for an AirTag in case you leave it behind.

“Find My” is an app and service provided by Apple Inc. This feature allows you to connect your iOS devices so that you can find them in case they got lost.

You can use the Find My app to locate a missing iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, or Beats headphones. To locate a device, you must turn on Find My [device] before it’s lost.

You can add third-party items to your Apple ID using your iPhone, and then use Find My to locate them if they’re lost or misplaced. You can also get notified if you leave your item behind.

In the Find My app, you can turn on separation alerts for an AirTag or other item so you don’t accidentally leave it behind. You receive an alert every time the device shares your location separately from the item.

You can also set Trusted Locations, which are locations where you can leave an item without receiving an alert.

How to enable separation alert for an AirTag:

Step1: Open Find My.

Step2: Tap Items at the bottom of the screen, then tap the name of the item you want to set an alert for.

Step3: Below Notifications, tap Notify When Left Behind.

Step4: Turn on Notify When Left Behind.

Step5: If you want to add a Trusted Location, you can choose a suggested location, tap New Location, select a location on the map, then tap Done.

Step6: Tap Done.
