You can use the Find My app to locate a missing iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple Watch, AirPods, or Beats headphones. To locate a device, you must turn on Find My [device] before it’s lost.
You can add third-party items to your Apple ID using your iPhone, and then use Find My to locate them if they’re lost or misplaced. You can also get notified if you leave your item behind.
When you register an item to your Apple ID, you can use the Find My app to see more details about it, like the serial number or model. You can also see if a third-party app is available from the manufacturer.
How to View more details about an item in Find My:
Step1: Open Find My
Step2: Tap Items at the bottom of the screen, then tap the item you want more details about.
Step3: Do either of the following:
- View details: Tap Show Details.
- Get or open a third-party app: If an app is available, you see the app icon. Tap Get or the Download button to download the app. If you’ve already downloaded it, tap Open to open it on your iPhone.
