What is the Home app?

The Home app helps you to securely control and automate HomeKit-enabled accessories, such as lights, smart TVs, and thermostats.

When you set up supported security cameras, you can capture video, and receive a notification when a camera recognizes someone at your door or when a package is left at the door. You can also open a compatible lock with a home key, group multiple speakers to play the same audio, and send and receive Intercom messages on supported devices. With Home, you can control any Works with Apple HomeKit accessory using iPhone.

How to add Siri enabled accessories:

Step1: Open the Home app on your iOS or iPadOS device, then tap the Add button.

Step2: Tap Add Accessory, then scan a setup code or hold iPhone near the accessory and tap the accessory in the Nearby Accessories list.

Step3: Tap Set Up and follow the onscreen instructions.

Step4: Under Speak to Siri, tap Turn On to enable Siri on the accessory.

Step5: Tap Use Personal Requests to allow the accessory to perform Personal Requests using HomePod and a nearby iOS or iPadOS device.

  • You can now make personal requests directly to your Siri-enabled accessory.
  • Note: HomePod must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network to access Siri from the accessory. Personal Requests also require a nearby iOS or iPadOS device.
  • Siri cannot be enabled on an accessory if another intelligent assistant is already enabled on that device. HomePod and the connected accessory are limited to one music or audio stream.
