To manage that, your iPhone deeply depends on your Camera’s focus and exposure settings and before you take a photo, your iPhone’s camera automatically sets the focus and exposure, and face detection to balance the exposure across many faces. But you can also adjust the focus and exposer settings on your iPhone’s camera to take the photo accordingly.

How to adjust focus and exposure on iPhone 13:

Step 1: On your device, open the camera app, and tap the screen to show the automatic focus area and exposure setting.

Step 2: Then tap where you want to move the focus area.

Step 3: Then next to the focus area, drag the Adjust Exposure button up or down to adjust the exposure.

  • To lock your manual focus and exposure settings for upcoming shots, touch and hold the focus area until you see AE/AF Lock. Then tap the screen to unlock settings.
