Moreover, Steam Deck has four Deck compatibility categories: Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and Unknown. Verification is the highest level of compatibility.
Only games that pass all four of the following are Deck-validated:
Input: The game should have full controller support, use the corresponding controller input icon, and automatically bring up the on-screen keyboard when needed.
Display: The game should support Steam Deck’s default resolution (1280×800 or 1280×720), the default settings are good, and the text is legible.
Seamless experience: The game should not display any compatibility warnings; if there is a launcher, it should be possible to use the controller.
System Support: If running through Proton, the game and all its middleware should be supported by Proton, including anti-cheat support.
After each game is checked, it is categorized on the Steam Deck according to its compatibility level. Players can see these categories when browsing their library or shopping for games on the Steam Deck.
