Apple pays awareness to environmental protection

According to the latest report, expert analysis, Apple’s practice of removing headphones and chargers from the iPhone box has saved a total of at least 6.5 billion US dollars.

Apple has said that removing the charger and earphones allows for smaller boxes, a move to reduce waste, and has claimed it will reduce carbon emissions by 2 million tons per year, the equivalent of 500,000 cars.

Moreover, emissions have been praised by environmentalists, while critics say persistently high prices have raised costs for customers without becoming greener.

Experts believe Apple’s new iPhone costs a whopping £1,549, saving you £27 per phone. Analysts believe that although the charger and earphones cost just £19, they are much cheaper to produce.

In total, Apple has saved at least 5 billion pounds since 2020. Ben Wood, principal analyst at specialist CCS Insight, said: “Apple is an environmental leader in the mobile phone industry, and removing chargers and headphones is one of many attempts it is doing. Of course, Apple is removing chargers and headphones when it sells the iPhone. , but also a small means of cost reduction.

Since announcing the move, Apple has sold more than 190 million iPhones worldwide. Thanks to the elimination of chargers and earphones, combined with reduced transport costs, the total benefit could be £5bn, with an estimated £225m from accessories sales.

In 2020, Lisa Jackson, Apple’s environmental director, said: “We know that customers have many chargers in their homes, and producing millions of unnecessary chargers will consume resources and increase our carbon emission.”

An Apple spokesperson also said last week: “At Apple, we continue to innovate to conserve resources and protect our shared planet. We have achieved carbon neutral operations ourselves, and we have set an ambitious goal of making our entire supply chain and products carbon neutral by 2030.

So every Apple device sales will have an impact. One of our efforts is to reduce the materials used in our products and packaging. This important initiative has reduced carbon emissions by more than 2 million metric tons, the equivalent of offsetting the emissions of 500,000 cars a year, and other companies are following our lead.
