When he checked which activities were draining the iPad’s battery, he found that the Find app was using up 34 percent of his iPad’s battery. Users on the Apple forum reported that they noticed this problem not only with iPads but also with iPhones.

This is clearly not normal, the Apple AirTag communicates with other Apple devices via the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol, so this is most likely a software bug that can be fixed with a system update.

In the latest official version of iOS 15.4, a legal risk reminder when pairing AirTag is added, reminding users that it may be illegal and criminal to track other people through it without permission, and other people can check the unidentified Tracking your own AirTag with permission, it is not clear whether the above problem is solved.

If you are also encountering the above problem, please make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS installed, whether you are using an iPad or an iPhone.
