ASUS X370 / A320 motherboards update BIOS on March 25

AMD released the R7 5800X3D processor and 6 new 65W processors last night. Today, ASUS announced that its 500/400 series motherboards now support the new processors, and X370 / A320 motherboards will be supported by a BIOS update on March 25th.

Moreover, it is up to AMD to decide whether the X370 and A320 motherboards officially support the R7 5800X3D processor. The newly released R5 5500 does not support X370 and A320 motherboards for now.

AMD’s official statement is that X370, B350, and A320 motherboards will support the latest AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, and a specific BETA BIOS update is expected to be available in April.

This new BIOS will be based on the AGESA 1.2.0.7 firmware, which is based on new code with more performance optimizations and fixes. Earlier that AMD released a total of 7 processors tonight, including the R7 5800X3D and 6 65W processors.

The R7 5800X3D will be officially launched on April 20, priced at $449 (about 2860.13 yuan). Six 65W processors, including the R7 5700X, will be available on April 4. The specifications and prices are as follows:

  • R5 5500: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 4.2GHz, 19MB cache, 65W TDP, $159

  • R5 5600: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 4.4GHz, 35MB cache, 65W TDP, $199

  • R7 5700X: 8 cores 16 threads, up to 4.6GHz, 36MB cache, 65W TDP, $299

  • R3 4100: 4 cores 8 threads, up to 4GHz, 6MB cache, 65W TDP, $99

  • R5 4500: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 4.1GHz, 11MB cache, 65W TDP, $129

  • R5 4600G: 6 cores 12 threads, up to 4.2GHz, 11MB cache, 65W TDP, with core display, $154
