China’s wearable market shipments may rise 160 million units in 2022: IDC

IDC released a report saying that in the fourth quarter of 2021, China’s wearable device market shipments were 37.53 million units, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%. In 2021, China’s wearable market will ship nearly 140 million units, a year-on-year increase of 25.4%.

  • In 2021, the headset market will ship 78.98 million units, a year-on-year increase of 55.4%.

  • In 2021, the watch market will ship 39.56 million units, a year-on-year increase of 21.4%. Among them, there were 20.13 million adult watches, a year-on-year increase of 31.0%. Shipments of children’s watches were 19.43 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%.

  • In 2021, the wristband market will ship 19.1 million units, down 26.3% year-on-year. From 2020 to 2021, the average wristband market price (excluding tax) will increase from US$27 to US$34.

Moreover, IDC expects that in 2022, the Chinese wearable market shipments will exceed 160 million units, an increase of 18.5% year-on-year.
