Moreover, driven by the strong demand for semiconductor products, the demand for semiconductor materials has also increased significantly, and the size of the global semiconductor material market has also expanded last year.

According to data from the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI), the size of the global semiconductor material market in 2021 will reach US$64.3 billion, an increase of US$8.8 billion from US$55.5 billion in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 15.9%.

Data from the International Semiconductor Industry Association also shows that in the semiconductor material market last year, the size of the wafer manufacturing material market was US$40.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%; the size of the packaging material market was US$23.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.5%.

Furthermore, the size of the global semiconductor material market increased significantly last year, mainly due to the increase in chip demand and the expansion of manufacturers. Ajit Manocha, president, and CEO of the International Semiconductor Industry Association said that driven by strong chip demand and the industry’s expansion of production capacity, the global semiconductor material market will see a rare and substantial growth in 2021.

Besides, Ajit Manocha also revealed that the transformation to digital has accelerated, the demand for electronic products has also increased significantly, and all semiconductor material fields have seen double-digit or high-single-digit growth last year.
