Judging from recent moves, Google seems to be working hard to help the Android tablet ecosystem develop and bring a better experience to Android tablet users.

Google emphasizes that the first update to the Play Store will be released in the next few months and that it prioritizes apps that were developed to follow “Google’s high-quality guidelines for large-screen devices,” which means we’ll likely see later More apps specially adapted for Android tablets are on the Play Store.

Moreover, Google, on the other hand, will warn about “unoptimized apps”. At present, the official has not disclosed too many details, but it can be confirmed that users will have a “low quality” reminder when downloading this kind of app. Google plans to provide more information on the change later this year.

Finally, Google also emphasized that it will present ratings and reviews based on the device a user is using, whether it’s a tablet, Android Auto, or Wear OS. Google said last year that it hopes to provide users with an application experience optimized based on current devices.

For example, an app might be under-optimized and rated low on a tablet, but it might work well and have a high rating on a phone. This way, users can know if the app is right for their device, and developers can better understand where they need to improve.

Furthermore, Google says these features will arrive “in the next few months.” In addition, Google will launch the Android 12 L system with wider applicability later this year, thereby promoting the development of large-screen ecosystems such as Android tablets/folding-screen phones.
