Now, Microsoft has announced that it is bringing support for nested virtualization to Windows 365 cloud computing, including a preview of the Windows Subsystem for Linux and Android.
This means that businesses can run Hyper-V in a Hyper-V Windows 365 virtual machine and run Linux and WSA directly in it. The features will only be enabled for ” certain license types,” possibly the more expensive Windows 365 Enterprise.
But it’s unclear what the exact distinction is. The feature is tracked in the Microsoft 365 roadmap as Feature ID 89004 and is expected to be released in preview next month, with general availability in December 2022.
