Google sued again charged of systemic bias against black employees

According to the latest report, Google on Friday was accused of systematic racial bias against black employees. The plaintiffs allege that Google steered them into lower-level jobs on the grounds of race, paid them less, and denied them promotions.

Plaintiff April Curley filed the lawsuit in federal court in San Jose, Calif., and is seeking to upgrade the case to a class action. Curley said Google kept blacks working in a hostile work environment, including routinely asking them to show ID or being questioned by security at its Mountain View, Calif., campus.

Moreover, the lawsuit says Google maintains a “racially biased corporate culture” that favors white men. Blacks make up just 4.4 percent of the workforce and about 3 percent of leadership and technical staff.
